Mr Ravin Jesuthasan, Managing Director at Willis Towers Wallis and a recognized thought leader on the future of work, held a dialogue session on the “Future role of HR in managing the implications of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) within the workplace”.

HR is shifting its mandate of being a steward of employment, to being a steward of work, Mr Jesuthasan shared.

There are emerging pivotal skills for Workforce 4.0, which include orchestrating a new ecosystem of work where every enterprise is a distributed one and leadership is from the edges, curating the optimal set of experiences for all types of talent, recognizing the need for ambidexterity in today’s complex and fast-paced environment, and enabling culture to be the new structure.

To make all of this work, the decision science of the profession needs to be elevated. We need to ensure that when we exercise judgement, we base it off science and analytics, rather than experience of business managers.
