IHRP-SHRM Partnership

Overview

On 7 August 2019, the Institute for Human Resource Professionals (IHRP) and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) signed a mutual recognition agreement.
The IHRP-SHRM agreement will enable certified professionals to achieve reciprocal recognition from both organizations through mutual recognition.

IHRP Certified Professional (IHRP–CP)

Eligibility Criteria:

  • 5 years HR experience or 3 years HR experience with a relevant undergraduate degree AND
  • Mid level HR practitioners
  • Minimum 150-hours of HR-related training or education

  • Paper A (Labour Policies and Legislation)

SHRM-SCP IHRP Senior Professional (IHRP–SP)

Eligibility Criteria:

  • At least 8 years of HR work experience
  • Leads a HR department or a HR Center of Excellence (CoE) or HR Shared Services team
  • Minimum 150-hours of HR-related training or education

Application Requirements:

  • Paper A (Labour Policies and Legislation)

  1. All fees are inclusive of and subjected to prevailing GST rate. Fees exclude re-certification fee which is payable at the point of re-certification.
  2. On-Site Fee is applicable to candidates selecting the On-Site Assessment option and includes test centre fees, invigilation fees and other administrative charges.
  3. SHRM candidates applying for IHRP Certification through this Agreement must have a current and valid SHRM Certification and Professional Membership.
  4. In the event where SHRM-CP / SHRM-SCP bridging candidates do not fulfil the necessary HR-related work experience at the appropriate level of seniority, an exception review will be conducted, and candidates may be offered bridging to IHRP-CP or have their application placed on hold till the required experience is accumulated.

Level 1 – IHRP Certified Professional

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be an IHRP Certified Professional in good standing
  • Must have at least 3+ years of HR experience.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Complete the SHRM bridging tutorial – The tutorial is focused on the behavioral and leadership competencies highlighted in the SHRM Competency Model which is the foundation for the SHRM Certification Body of Competency and Knowledge. The SHRM BoCk is the basis for all SHRM Certification products including the certification exams. The tutorial also includes a competency self-assessment and a sampling of situational judgement test items and takes approximately 1-hour to complete.
  • Review and agree to SHRM terms and conditions: Candidate Agreement, the SHRM Bylaws and Code of Ethics, and the SHRM Privacy Policy.
• Special Bridging Fee + 1 Year Global Internet Membership: USD 420*
Level 2 – IHRP Senior/Master Professional SHRM-SCP

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be an IHRP Associate/Certified Professional in good standing
  • Must have least 6+ years of HR experience.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Complete the SHRM bridging tutorial – The tutorial is focused on the behavioral and leadership competencies highlighted in the SHRM Competency Model which is the foundation for the SHRM Certification Body of Competency and Knowledge. 1Note:

  1. These fees include prevailing fees which SHRM may charge, such as application fees and membership fees, but excludes recertification fees where applicable.
  2. A person must obtain a SHRM Global Internet Membership at the time of applying for the SHRM certification under this Agreement to become a certified professional of SHRM.
  3. A bridging candidate who ceases to be an IHRP certified professional will be required to re-apply for SHRM Professional Membership under the terms and conditions specified by SHRM.
