Close to seventy business leaders, HR professionals, representatives from government institutions, academia and HR professional bodies came together for a day of learning, networking and stimulating conversations at the CIPD-IHRP jointly hosted “HR Think Tank 2.0: Disruption” on 25 November 2019.

The event was hosted by IHRP-MP, Aileen Tan (Group CHRO, Singtel) at the newly launched Singtel Learning Center at 8 George Street, Singapore. Zaqy Mohamad (Minister for State for National Development & Manpower) graced the event as Guest-of-Honor, where he urged HR to be aware of the opportunities and changes brought about by technology and to prepare themselves to take on new enhanced roles.

Key highlights from the Think Tank included Disrupt Showcases featuring AI and data science platforms (Caito and Dataiku), as well as Singtel’s Curious App, which features curated learning channels of more than 100,000 courses and videos. Think Tank guests also had the opportunity to engage in a lively and highly stimulating “Hot Seat Debate”, where they shared thought provoking viewpoints, clarified stakeholder expectations and reaffirmed their commitment to collaborate in creating workforce solutions that address disruption.

At the Think Tank 2.0 event, CIPD and IHRP also commemorated the MOU renewal of our strategic partnership together. This renewed partnership commitment will bring about greater opportunities to co-host thought leadership events and research, as well as continue to offer bridging opportunities for our respective certified communities to achieve dual CIPD-IHRP certification. This CIPD-IHRP partnership will help further our goals to offer greater international exposure and networks to our HR community, to help prepare HR professionals for a wider range of growth possibilities in the future.

MOS Zaqy Mohamadand IHRP Chairman, Swee Chen Goh, witnesses the signing ceremony, as CIPD and IHRP CEOs renew the strategic partnership for the next 2 years.

The Think Tank is part of the on-going initiatives to help certified professionals learn the best practices and gather insights from industry leading companies, as well as earn Continuing Professional Development hours for recertification.
